The Cabinet of Ministers intends to double the compensation for those people who sheltered internally displaced persons.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Irina Vereshchuk in Nikolaev.

According to her, the issue of amending the relevant resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding amendments to the Prihistok program is now being discussed..

“The program will work in such a way that not 450, but 900 hryvnias will be mandatory as compensation from the state if people have accommodated regular migrants,” she said..

As reported, those wishing to host a family of displaced persons should apply to the local authorities or join the program through Diya or the Prihistok website, where they should create an appropriate announcement of their intention to provide housing for internally displaced persons.

Recall that IDPs can receive additional assistance from various funds: the UN, the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
