Sudan offered more oil blocks to Russian oil producer Zarubezhneft. The military-led government in Khartoum has expanded bilateral relations with Russia, which is trying to circumvent international sanctions after the invasion of Ukraine and increase political and economic influence in Africa.. Sudan Tribune writes about this with reference to a statement by a Sudanese official at the end of Friday's ministerial visit to Moscow..

“We discussed the proposal of Zarubezhneft… We used to provide several blocks for development, and now we have added even more in regions with gas and oil potential.

I think by October we will pass on the necessary information so that they can begin to consider these areas,” said at the end of the meeting the Director General of the Office of Oil Production al-Tahir Abul-Hassan.

The publication notes that in 2022 to July, Sudan paid about $110 million to receive wheat from Russia and $37 million to import sunflower oil..

Recall that recently a Russian cargo ship with stolen Ukrainian grain arrived in Syria..
