The Ukrainian market is increasingly overstocked with fuel, and the demand for it is falling more and more, which is why gas stations are already ready to trade at the cost of the product. This was shown by a weekly study of the A-95 consulting group, enkorr reports..

“The price continues to fall, with such a pace next week we will trade at cost. In July, a large amount of resource was put on the market, and demand remains at a minimum level,” says one of the interviewed traders.

In early August, wholesale prices for petroleum products continued to fall.

On Friday, August 5, the national average of A-95 gasoline in wholesale could be purchased for 46.5 UAH/l, which is 2 UAH/l (4%) less than a week ago. Diesel fuel lost 3 UAH/l (6%) on average over the week and traded at the level of 45.75 UAH/l.

On August 5, gasoline was offered to the market within the price range of UAH 45-49, having decreased by UAH 2-3/l over the week. The minimum price was fixed in the south of the country - 45 UAH/l. Somewhat more expensive gasoline could be purchased in the western regions - for 47 UAH / l, and with advancement inland, the price increased to 49 UAH / l.

The range of diesel fuel trade was wider - 42-48 UAH/l. This is 3-4 UAH/l cheaper than a week ago.

Low prices securely settled in the southern region. Here trade was within 42-44 UAH/l, having lost 3-4 UAH/l in a week. At the same time, the opinion has already been voiced that next week the price will fall to 41.5 UAH/l due to low demand and a decrease in world quotations..

Western region on the second line of the price rally. Here, diesel could be purchased in the range of 44-47 UAH/l, which is also lower than prices last Friday by 2-3 UAH/l. Traders were not so willing to drop prices, because the available resource was imported at high prices..

In the northern and central regions, the price tags for diesel fuel dropped 2-3 UAH/l per week, and diesel was traded at 45-48 UAH/l on Friday. Consistently more expensive diesel fuel is traded in the eastern regions of the country - for 46-49 UAH/l. But this level also indicates a decrease in prices by 2-3 UAH/l.

Recall, according to A-95 data, the volume of imports of motor fuels (gasoline, diesel fuel, autogas) to Ukraine increased in July by 125 thousand. tons compared to June 2022 to 779 thousand. The main increase was due to the supply of diesel fuel, the import of which compared to June 2022. increased by 75 thousand. tons (+16%), up to 560 thousand.

We also recall that the beginning of August was marked by a significant decline in prices for petroleum products in Europe - by 10-15%.
