The National Bank of Ukraine has introduced additional requirements for the ethical behavior of collectors. This was reported by the press service of the regulator..

According to the NBU, the purpose of this step is to protect the rights of consumers of financial services. Thus, the regulator wants to ensure a responsible attitude towards the consumer on the part of collectors and creditors.

The National Bank notes that, despite the adoption of the so-called “collector law” a year ago, which significantly complicated the life of collectors, the regulator continues to receive complaints from consumers. Separately, they emphasized that a large number of complaints come from clients of non-banking financial institutions (organizations for issuing microloans). Therefore, the NBU has developed additional requirements for the behavior of collectors.

Under the new rules, it was forbidden to process the telephone directory and the customer's call log to collect a debt from him. And also settled the issues of transferring data of third parties who are not guarantors, property guarantors or heirs. Now, if a consumer provides personal data of third parties, in particular relatives, this does not mean their direct consent to interaction.
