The volume of exports from Ukraine in the first half of the year amounted to $22.8 billion, which is 23.7% less compared to the same period in 2021. This was announced by the Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka.

Relative to the second quarter, it was sold to foreign markets for $8,782. Compared to the second quarter of last year, the reduction in April-June amounted to more than 45.8%, or $7.42 billion.

In physical volumes, the decrease in quarterly exports was more significant - by 55.6%, or 20.8 million tons. In the second quarter, Ukraine exported 16.6 million tons of cargo.

The main reason for the reduction is port blocking.. In particular, the decline in shipping by sea in the second quarter compared to the first amounted to 86.5%, or 21.6 million tons..

If we analyze exports on a monthly basis, then the situation has stabilized, Kachka noted.. Thus, exports resumed growth in May and June after a sharp fall in March..

At the same time, growth occurred both in terms of value and volume..

In June, sales amounted to 5.8 million tons of cargo worth $3.177 billion. The top 10 commodities are: oil, corn, sunflower seeds, ore, steel (semi-finished products), wires, poultry meat, pipes, pig iron and soybeans.

Geographically, exports are fully focused on the EU - 78% of total volumes in the second quarter.
