The enterprises of housing and communal services of the city of Kharkiv resumed the accrual of fees for the services provided from June 1.
This was reported by the directors of public utilities: "
They noted that for three months, employees of public utilities did everything possible to keep the city alive even in war conditions: they repaired pipelines, restored heat and water supply, cleaned yards, took out garbage, launched elevators, etc.. During this time, Kharkiv residents were not charged for utilities. However, enterprises do not have the financial ability to continue working in this mode..
Thus, as a result of massive shelling, many critical infrastructure facilities were destroyed or seriously damaged.. So that enterprises can restore them as quickly as possible and prepare Kharkiv for the new heating season in a quality manner, it was decided to resume payment for housing and communal services.
As promised by the Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov, all accruals for utilities from February 24 to June 1 will be written off. Utilities will recalculate, and already in July Kharkiv residents will receive a receipt with charges for the past month. If Kharkiv residents had payment arrears before February 24, it will also be included in the payment. Those Kharkiv residents who paid for services during the war will be recalculated and the amounts paid will be taken into account as payment from June 1. Utility rates remain the same.
