In Russia, against the background of the sanctions, there was a need for new logistics corridors, said Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev. He noted that the imposed sanctions “virtually broke all the logistics” in the country.. Now we have to look for new options, said Savelyev.

“Those sanctions that were imposed today on the Russian Federation practically broke all the logistics in our country. And we are forced to look for new logistics corridors,” the minister told reporters.. Vitaly Savelyev mentioned the international transport corridor North-South, which is connected with the Caspian direction.

The Ministry of Transport is considering this direction, Savelyev explained.

“These are not only ports, but also approaches to ports, bridges and roads, we should not have bottlenecks that would not allow us to rebuild,” said the Minister of Transport.

Significant difficulties arose in the logistics of goods incoming and exported from the Russian Federation after the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine. The European direction turned out to be paralyzed both by sanctions and a lack of understanding of their structure and application by suppliers and transport companies. According to market participants, rail transportation remains the most stable and reliable.
