Russian Gazprom stopped gas supplies to the Finnish company Gasum from 7:00 on Saturday, May 21. This was reported on the company's website.

On Friday, May 20, Gasum received a corresponding message from Gazprom Export.

" 00. Starting May 21 and throughout the upcoming summer season, Gasum will supply natural gas to its customers from other sources through the Balticconnector pipeline (connecting Finland and Estonia),"

According to Gasum CEO Mik Viljanen, the company was ready for such a scenario..

Provided that there are no failures in the gas transmission network, the company will be able to provide all consumers with gas in the coming months.

On Saturday morning, Russian media clarified that Russia had indeed cut off gas supplies..

Gasum refused to pay for Russian gas in rubles.

Earlier, Russia stopped gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria, which also refused to pay in rubles..

Since May 14, Finland no longer receives electricity from Russia. Electricity from Russia accounted for about 10% of Finland's total consumption.
