Ukraine loses $170 million every day due to the blocking of ports by Russian troops. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal during a working trip with the President of the European Council Charles Michel to Odessa, the Government Portal reports..

According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine's export opportunities have decreased by more than half. Meanwhile, about 70 ships cannot leave the ports of our country..

" Now about 70 ships are blocked in the seaports of Ukraine, including 10 in the port of Odessa. The vast majority of ships are bulk carriers and general cargo ships,"

He added that 90 million tons of agricultural products also remain blocked.. Ukraine planned to supply them to the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe.

The Prime Minister noted that the world is already feeling the impact of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on global food security. Since shipping in the Black Sea stopped on February 24.

" And despite the intentions of the aggressor to create a food crisis in the world, together we must do everything to prevent starvation in individual countries,"

The head of government explained that now the Kremlin is spreading disinformation in the world in order to lift sanctions, but only the Russian Federation is to blame for the food crisis.

"

European Council President Charles Michel agreed that Russia is to blame for the current situation. He assured that the EU will do everything possible to resolve the problem of the global food crisis..

" This potentially means a dramatic situation for many countries around the world.. This is especially true for developing countries. And Russia bears all the responsibility for this situation,"

During the trip of Denis Shmyhal and Charles Michel to Odessa, the Russian invaders once again launched a missile attack on the Odessa region.
