Japan will provide a loan to Ukraine in the amount of $100 million for 30 years

Ukraine and Japan signed an agreement on providing our country with a $100 million loan as part of Ukraine's support. The loan repayment period is 30 years, including a grace period of 10 years; interest rate — 1% per annum. It is reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

“Today, April 28, 2022, an agreement was signed between the government of Ukraine and the government of Japan on a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency for development policy in the field of emergency economic recovery and a grant to strengthen the healthcare and medicine system,” the ministry said..



The loan will be used to stabilize the budgetary situation and ensure priority social, humanitarian, health care, support for internally displaced persons and other priority spending.

Ukraine will also receive a grant in the amount of $2.3 million, which will be used to purchase medical equipment..

Earlier it was reported that due to the threat of Russia using chemical weapons against the Ukrainian military, the Japanese government decided to send suits to protect against this type of attack, as well as drones.
