Latvia will help Ukraine sell grain through its ports - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

April 22-24 Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky paid a working visit to Latvia. The head of the department met with his colleague Kaspars Gerhards and discussed with him the potential assistance of the Republic of Latvia in the issue of Ukrainian grain exports to other countries.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Solsky visited the Riga, Ventspils free ports and the special economic zone of the city of Liepaja. The minister got acquainted with the port and logistics infrastructure of Latvia, and also discussed the possibility of exporting Ukrainian agricultural products through Latvian ports. Solsky also met with representatives of local authorities in Latvia, representatives of port administrations, grain terminal operators, as well as Latvian grain trading companies.

Earlier, Latvian President Egils Levits said that his country supports Ukraine's accession to the EU and is ready to become an assistant in overcoming the export crisis that arose as a result of the war against Russia..
