The restriction of food exports from Ukraine as a result of the war unleashed by Russia against our state will hit many regions of the world, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said during his online speech at the Doha Forum - 2022.

“Wheat, vegetable oil, corn and other agricultural products from our country are the basis of the stability and internal security of many states in different regions of the world... Russian troops mine fields in Ukraine, undermine agricultural equipment, destroy fuel reserves that are necessary for sowing. They blocked our seaports. Why are they doing that? Our state has enough food. But the lack of exports from Ukraine will hit many peoples in the Islamic world, Latin America and other parts of the planet,” Zelensky said..

The President urged to unite efforts to prevent food shortages in the world due to war. In particular, by tightening the sanctions policy against Russia.

“All the restrictions imposed on Russia are aimed at only one thing: for Russia to start looking for peace, so that it does not create global threats.. I call on all states to join this. Russia must seek peace. Must stop the war against Ukraine. I must stop any attempts to hack global stability and return to the world the old disgusting habits of those who were looking for colonies and instilled inequality,"

Earlier, the Office of the President stated that food supplies in Ukraine are enough for at least two years..

In particular, wheat, corn, sunflower oil is enough for 3-5 years. We used to always export 70-80% of these products.

The war will affect not only the economies of the warring countries, but also the world: financial markets are falling, sanctions are intensifying, commodity prices are rising, contrary to economic growth forecasts.
