Half of Ukraine's renewable energy capacity is under threat of destruction due to Russian military aggression. The facts of the destruction of wind turbines, solar panels, electrical equipment of stations, power lines, substations by the invaders have already been recorded, the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association says.

" In areas where active hostilities continue, 47% of the installed capacity of power plants is located on renewable energy sources (according to the NEURC as of January 1, 2022),"

In addition, many RES stations are located in areas adjacent to areas where active hostilities are taking place..

At present, some of the renewable energy stations have already stopped their work..

" In addition, Russian infidels steal equipment from renewable energy stations,"

For example, more than half of the wind farms have already stopped their work..

As you know, the main part of wind farms in Ukraine was built in the southern regions of the country with the greatest wind potential - Zaporozhye, Kherson, Nikolaev, Odessa.

89% of the installed capacity of wind farms is installed in areas where active hostilities are currently ongoing, another 9% are located in close proximity to regions with active hostilities.

37% of ground, 35% of rooftop/facade solar power plants and about half (48%) of biomass plants were also in active combat zones. In addition, respectively, 34%, 19% and 42% of the stations are located in adjacent areas with a high probability of deploying hostilities..

The situation is somewhat better for biogas plants and small hydropower plants: only 29% of biogas plants and 16% of small hydropower plants are located in areas of active hostilities..

Recall that Ukraine expects to receive $ 415 billion of arrested foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Russia, which should be compensation for Ukraine's losses in the war.

At the same time, Russia is also concerned about the fate of the frozen assets.. According to the Meduza publication, the Ministry of Finance of the aggressor country hopes that these assets will still be able to be disposed of. After all, because of the sanctions, the Russian Federation lost access to half of its gold and foreign exchange reserves..
