Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development have signed two agreements totaling $ 411 million, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said in his Telegram channel..

Where will the money go:.

$ 200 million - for the development of higher education in Ukraine;

$ 211 million - to improve the stability of the Ukrainian energy system for integration into the European energy grid ENTSO-E.

The agreements were signed during a meeting between Shmygal and Anna Bjerde, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia.

“I am grateful for the large number of projects that we are already successfully implementing together in Ukraine.. Our state needs long-term cooperation and investment programs. Earlier, the World Bank promised to allocate money to the fight against coronavirus in Ukraine. As part of the global COVAX initiative aimed at equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, the bank plans to provide Ukraine with $ 230 million.
