Germany allocated 150 million euros to support small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, during a meeting with Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel, thanked for the arrangement of a financial loan from the German government to support small and medium-sized businesses.

“Last year, an agreement was reached to redirect the unused part of the untied financial loan of the FRG government to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 150 million to support small and medium-sized businesses.. We are developing a program to reduce the cost of loans for SMEs " It is extremely successful, and thousands of small entrepreneurs have already used it for more than 2 billion euros, ”said Shmygal..

The head of the Ukrainian government also expressed gratitude to Germany for participating in the establishment of the international COVAX initiative, as well as for the direct transfer of 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine..



“Now there are enough vaccines in Ukraine for everyone. We do almost 1 million vaccinations weekly and plan to vaccinate at least half of the adult population by the end of the year in order to protect the country from further outbreaks of the disease, ”the Prime Minister said..

Denis Shmygal also stressed that Ukraine appreciates Germany's readiness to host a Conference on Reforms in 2023 on its territory..
