Spain intends to open separate resort regions for tourists from EU countries at the end of June. We are talking about the Spanish regions least affected by the coronavirus epidemic, writes DW.

So far, the country's authorities have called the Balearic and Canary Islands as promising.

This was announced on Monday by Minister of Tourism Jose Luis Abalos TVE. According to him, by that time most of the current restrictions will be lifted.. In particular, at present, all foreigners entering Spain must spend two weeks in quarantine.

Tourism revenues make up 12 percent of the country's GDP. The Association of Travel Agencies of Spain previously reported that the industry’s losses this year will be from 93 to 124 billion euros, even if the country's borders open at the end of June.
