In the Kharkiv region, the head of the farm was informed of a suspicion of a violation of the established rules for the protection and use of mineral resources, which entailed serious consequences (h. 4 tbsp. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
This was reported in the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Kharkiv region.
It was established that the farmer, without permission to use land for subsoil use and a special permit (license) for mining, without mining allotment and a plan for developing a mineral deposit, from July to November 2019 illegally mined sand in the Volchansky district of the Kharkov region.
He created two quarries with an average depth of more than 6.5 meters and about 4 meters. Subsequently, the entrepreneur sold the extracted sand to other citizens in the form of marketable products..
Environmental engineering and forensic studies showed that an unauthorized extraction of sand created an environmental hazard, resulting in damage to the state for more than 65.3 million UAH.
The farmer faces a sentence of imprisonment of five to eight years.
