Since 2000, Europeans have been working for 3 years longer: on average, during this time, the duration of professional life in the EU has increased from 33 to 36 years, according to Eurostat European statistics service.

On average, a man dedicates a career 38 years of life, a woman - 33 years. But there are exceptions: in Latvia, both men and women work equally (36 years on average), and in Lithuania women devote a little more to their careers than men - 37 vs. 36.

The biggest “workaholics” are the Swedes (they have been working for an average of 42 years), and the “lazy ones” are Italians (32 years). In all EU countries, the length of professional life has increased by 4.5 months compared with last year.
