Berlin will not give up - Nord Stream-2 will be built, because Germany and Europe need it. This was stated by the head of the German federation of German industry Dieter Kempf. According to him, Germany needs an additional channel for gas supplies from a reliable source. "Nord Stream-2" is just what is needed for the country's growing energy consumption. And the interference of third countries in this issue is unacceptable. Of course, the US offers its fuel to Europe and even declare that the price of their LNG is quite competitive. However, as Dieter Kempf correctly noted, the low cost of LNG in the US does not mean anything, since the gas still needs to be transported across the Atlantic, the words of the official Deutsche Welle.

Earlier in Washington reported that they are considering the issue of imposing sanctions against European companies that are involved in the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline,. At the same time in Russia noted that, as a last resort, they will be able to fully fund the project. In August, the laying of the offshore section of the pipeline started, which will link Russia and Germany directly. The start of operation of the new gas pipeline is scheduled for the end of 2019.
