Trade negotiations between the US and China on the verge of failure. On the eve it became known that the delegation of Beijing may not go to Washington in late September. The Chinese side did not like that during the negotiation process, the Americans continue to introduce more and more duties on goods produced in China. Another list of the Chinese products exported to the United States, which falls under the duties, should be published on September 17-18. As The Wall Street Journal found out, this is insisted on by the head of the White House, Donald Trump. Last week he talked to his advisers and passed a verdict: the introduction of duties gave a positive result for the American market. At the same time, the Chinese market, in his opinion, has declined. It is necessary to press on, and then Beijing will become much more compliant in the course of further trade negotiations. However, China was stubborn. At first there they stated that they "do not intend to negotiate at gunpoint", so they are thinking about abandoning attempts to solve the problem at the round table. And then they threatened with a retaliatory blow:

"China is planning a new and remarkable counterattack to make the United States more painful," said the English-language Chinese newspaper Global Times. The publication emphasizes that the main driving force of the world economy is just China, and the prospects for the United States "fade" because of the course chosen by their leadership. Washington unleashed a trade war with Beijing this summer. Over the past months, countries have introduced reciprocal import duties on goods totaling $ 50 billion. The new American list is estimated at $ 200 billion.
