The press attache of the EU in Ukraine David Stulik distributed today a statement about Oleg Sentsov.

Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov continues hunger strike in Russian prison since May 14. He was detained in 2014 immediately after the illegal annexation of the Crimean Peninsula by the Russian Federation.

Reported about the rapid deterioration of Sentsov's health. We expect that Russia will provide him with proper medical treatment in a medical institution in accordance with the interim measure of the European Court of Human Rights of July 25.

The European Union expects compliance with international human rights standards on the peninsula. It is also necessary to immediately release all Ukrainian citizens who are illegally detained in Russia and the Crimean Peninsula.
