The World Trade Organization's arbitration sided with Russia in its dispute with Ukraine over Kiev's application of anti-dumping measures against Russian-made ammonium nitrate used in fertilizers. According to the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the WTO Gennady Ovechko on Friday, July 20, the WTO arbitration panel satisfied the overwhelming majority of claims from the Russian Federation in the framework of the suit filed by Russia in May 2015.

In July 2014, Ukraine for five years increased anti-dumping duties on the import of ammonium nitrate (ammonium nitrate) from Russia.

In the Russian Federation, attention was drawn to the fact that these measures were adopted in the same way as in the European Union, that is, using energy adjustments. According to Moscow, this does not comply with WTO rules, and in this connection, in May 2015, the Russian Federation filed a lawsuit against Ukraine.

The WTO arbitration also recognized the rightness of Russia that Ukraine violated WTO rules by including in the initial anti-dumping investigation the Swiss-based EuroChem private company owned by Russian businessman Andrei Melnichenko.
