Ukrainian gardeners raise prices for apricots, as evidenced by monitoring data of EastFruit. According to market analysts, already today manufacturers are able to ship these products by 15-20% more expensive than a week earlier.

So at the moment Ukrainian producers offer apricots at 12-17 UAH / kg ($ 0.46-0.65 per kg) depending on the quality and region. For comparison, a week ago the prices for these stone fruit in Ukraine did not exceed 15 UAH / kg ($ 0.57 per kg).

The reason for the rise in price, according to farmers, was a seasonal reduction in the supply of apricots, as the sale of fruits of early varieties comes to an end. In addition, support for price growth is exerted by the activation of trade and procurement activities by almost all categories of buyers.

Nevertheless, it is necessary to emphasize that even after such a significant increase in prices today apricots in Ukrainian farms are 15-20% cheaper than in mid-July 2017.

This price difference, according to industry experts, is associated with a significant reduction in the production of stone fruit in general and apricots in particular in the country last season. Recall that in April 2017 in several regions of Ukraine there were frosts and heavy snowfalls. As a result, the loss of stone fruit early varieties in some farms reached 100%. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, because of the whims of the heavenly office, the gross collection of these fruits in the country was inferior to the results of 2016 by almost 30%.
