The Polish authorities did not long rejoice at the opportunity to receive gas from Russia at a reduced price. The Stockholm Arbitration acknowledged the arguments of Gazprom and denied the Polish energy company PGNiG a change in the price of gas. "The arbitration tribunal agreed with the arguments of OOO Gazprom export and completely refused to PGNiG in the price change," the Russian gas holding. The Tribunal confirmed the existence of such a right in the Polish company, "but did not agree with the proposed price method and the price formula proposed by the Polish company". The final decision will be made "taking into account the conclusions and principles defined by the interim decision, and after further consultations with the parties," reads the press release.

Earlier in PGNiG reported on a favorable decision for the Stockholm arbitration. The company assured that the contractual price of gas supplied via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline will be reduced. This is the Yamal contract of 1996, which provides for the supply of 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year until 2022. "Gazprom" has already reduced the price by 10% under this contract in 2012. However, in 2015 the company again appealed to the Stockholm Arbitration, because, according to Warsaw, the price does not correspond to market conditions.
