The German automaker BMW and the French aircraft manufacturer Airbus said they were ready to move production outside of Britain if London did not soon agree on the conditions for withdrawal from the EU.

The head of the British branch of BMW, Ian Robertson, said that the company, which produces cars in Britain of the brands Mini and Rolls Royce, is ready to wait until the end of summer.

"If clarity [about the economic agreement between the EU and Britain] does not appear within the next couple of months, we will begin to prepare a contingency plan. which means that Britain will become less competitive, "he said..

At the enterprises of the automaker in Britain employs about eight thousand people.

Airbus Corporation - for which 14 thousand people work in Britain - also warned that it will postpone production if Britain leaves the single European market and the EU customs union without a transitional agreement.

The British government meanwhile insists that it will be able to achieve a profitable agreement, including for industry.

The customs union, which includes 28 EU member countries, has the same tariffs on goods imported from third countries.

British Prime Minister Teresa Mei previously ruled out the possibility of staying in the customs union. Britain officially withdraws from the EU on March 29, 2019.
