The Kharkov Mayor Gennady Kernes today, June 21, visited the Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 1 and got acquainted with the progress of the implementation of the investment project for the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment system in Kharkov.

According to Yury Shatalov, deputy director for the cleaning facilities of the Kharkivvodotvodstvo complex, in the next few days the Kharkov Vodokanal CP will sign an agreement with the contractor and will start implementing the investment project "Improvement of the sludge management system of sewage treatment plants.. Of Kharkov ». The first stage is the design process, after the expertise and approval of the project, the enterprise will begin to implement it.

"We have found an investor for Kharkov, and this will improve the reliability of the city's communications, in particular, create European conditions for high-quality wastewater treatment," said the mayor of Gennady Kernes.

Recall, the reconstruction of the city's sewerage system is carried out for the funds of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The cost of the project is 85.8 million dollars.

"After reconstruction, modern energy-saving equipment will be installed here that will not only improve the quality of work, but also save energy," said Yury Shatalov.

Kharkov "will be held at the Urban sewage disposal facilities No.1 and 2. It assumes a complete reconstruction of treatment facilities - from the primary (mechanical) treatment of waste water to the purification of its biological composition, as well as the construction of a complex for processing the sludge and producing biogas from it, which will subsequently generate electricity. It is planned that the reconstruction of treatment facilities will take about three years.
