The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has released data on monitoring socio-economic development of the regions for 2017.

Kharkiv region confirmed the results of the previous two years and took first place among other regions of Ukraine and the second - after the city of Kiev.

The relevant data are posted on the official website of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine.

The general rating assessment of the regions is calculated on 64 indicators, which are grouped into 12 areas. In half of the directions and 22 indicators Kharkiv region is in the top five.

The second place is in the areas of "Development of small and medium-sized businesses", "Renewable energy and energy efficiency", "Social protection and security".

At the same time, following the results of 2017, the Kharkiv region strengthened its positions in the economy and social sphere, taking first place in three directions: "Labor market efficiency", "Accessibility and quality of services in the field of education" and "Rational nature management and environmental quality".

Based on the results of previous rating assessments (in 2015 and 2016), Kharkiv Oblast was ahead of the city of Kiev only in the sphere of education.

An important result of the work of the Kharkiv region was immediately the first 9 places on key indicators related to social security of the population, development of entrepreneurship, energy efficiency, quality of education, social protection of children and improvement of the ecological situation in the region (in 2016, there were 7 such indicators, in 2015 - 4).
