USAID will allocate to Ukraine 125 million more for the development of Donbass

US Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide Ukraine with additional financial assistance for the development of Donbass. As reported on the page of the Ukrainian branch of USAID, it is about the amount of $ 125 million, which will be sent to both the Donbas and other territories that "felt the influence of Russian aggression". The money will be used to further stabilize and unite the Ukrainian communities in the region, increase the stability of the local economy and accelerate its development.

Officially, Kiev will be given money on May 15 at a special press conference in which USAID representative Brock Birman, US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker and US Ambassador to Kiev Marie Jovanovich will take part..



At the end of March 2018, the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved the total amount of aid to Ukraine for the 2018 fiscal year (to be completed in the US on September 30). As follows from the adopted document, "the initiative to maintain Ukraine's security" in the Pentagon in accordance with the US State Department is allocated $ 200 million. This amount will go to the training of the Ukrainian military, the purchase of equipment and "lethal defensive weapons," the maintenance of the intelligence services of the country and logistics.
