The State Duma will discuss the implementation of major investment projects

The visiting session of the Council of the State Duma will be held in the settlement of Sabetta of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (YaNAO) on Monday, April 23. The parliamentarians will discuss the implementation of major investment projects in Russia using the example of "Yamal LNG". The meeting will be attended by the speaker of the lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov, Vice Speaker Olga Epifanova, leaders of parliamentary factions - Sergei Neverov, Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Sergei Mironov, as well as heads of committees of the lower chamber for transport and construction, property and land relations, physical culture, sport, tourism and youth affairs, as well as regional policy and problems of the North and the Far East. "The Duma Council will discuss the implementation of major investment projects using the example of Yamal LNG," the press service of the lower house said. The discussion will be attended by the leadership of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, as well as representatives of Novatek. Parliamentarians will hold an extended working meeting devoted to the development of large industrial and infrastructure projects in the Arctic zone of Russia using the example of Yamal. As expected, the legislators will get acquainted with the work of the plant for liquefying natural gas and a power plant serving the production of "Yamal LNG". In addition, the deputies will visit the seaport. The Yamal LNG project is being implemented in the Arctic Circle on the basis of the South Tambey Gas Field. The construction of an enterprise for the liquefaction of natural gas is conducted in three stages.

The first line was launched in December last year, the event was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The second line will go into operation already this year, the third - in the next. According to the planned indicators, the plant will annually produce more than 16 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and about 1.2 million tons of gas condensate. Products will be delivered to European markets, as well as to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
