The Central Bank estimated the spring growth rates of prices for goods and services. "Borscht set", which includes cabbage, beets, potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic, in March this year, went up by 15.7%. Acceleration of the monthly increase in food prices is associated with a faster than typical for this time of year and than the Bank of Russia expected, replacing domestic vegetables with imported ones, the regulator website says.. Also, the monthly and annual inflation increased due to the growth in March of prices for railway passenger transportation and individual services, added to the Central Bank. The cost of other categories of products remained the same in March as in January-February this year, and the annual growth rate slightly decreased: "Cheaper than a year earlier, there were cereals and pasta, meat products, sugar, eggs". Unfortunately, the Central Bank noted the dependence of the Russian economy on the situation developing in the world.

The Bank of Russia believes that in the second and third quarters inflation dynamics will depend on external factors and their influence on the ruble exchange rate, as well as on how companies will adapt to changing external conditions. At the same time, the regulator noted that if there were no new shocks, the impact of the ruble depreciation on prices would not be great. "Recently, the sensitivity of prices to external shocks and exchange rate volatility has been declining," the Central Bank of Russia.
