The Government of the Independent has introduced temporary restrictions on the import of mineral fertilizers from the Russian Federation. This decision was made during today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. "Instruct the Ministry of Economy in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice and other ministries to formalize this decision," - quotes "112 Ukraine" Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman. Anti-dumping duties on the import of Russian fertilizers to Ukraine were introduced by Kiev in 2014, but then this decision concerned only ammonium nitrate. After the adoption of these restrictions, other kinds of fertilizers from Russia were actively used in the agriculture of the Nezalezhnaya: urea and carbamide-ammonium mixture.

In the spring of last year, duties at a rate of almost 32% were imposed on imports of these fertilizers. The Ministry of Economics of Ukraine reports that before the introduction of anti-dumping measures, the Russian Federation was the absolute leader in the supply of nitrogen fertilizers to Ukraine, occupying a market share of 80-90% of the total volume. Moscow filed a lawsuit with the WTO against Kiev because of the sanctions imposed on Russia and the embargo, considering that Ukraine has violated its obligations in the framework of a world organization.
