US companies intend to make serious competition for Russia in the gas supply market in Europe. This was told by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sandra Oudkirk during the energy conference in the Atlantic Council. "We are ready to compete in the EU market by supplying gas.

There are already thirty FSRUs (floating installations for storage and regasification), "RIA Novosti quotes it.. Oudkirk admitted that the United States will not be able to supply the same amount of blue fuel as Russia.

At the same time she stressed that, despite the competitive price, it is necessary to optimize it for European customers.

However, the Assistant Secretary of State believes that there is no need to block the Russian project, since the country's foreign policy will not change from this. The Nord Stream-2 project, worth € 9.5 billion, involves the construction of two gas pipeline lines from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany. The total capacity is 55 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year.

The new highway will be half owned by Gazprom and half by a consortium of five European companies.
