The government plans to increase the cost of excise stamps on imported tobacco and alcohol to Russia, the "Commissant".

According to the draft resolution of the Cabinet, the cost of excise stamps for marking tobacco products is planned to be set at 200 rubles per 1,000 pieces (excluding VAT), and for alcohol - up to 1.85 thousand rubles per 1,000 pieces (excluding VAT). Now the cost is 120 and 1700 rubles respectively.

The publication notes that the rise in price of tobacco products will be on before July 1, 2018, because in July last year the Russian government submitted to the State Duma a proposal to postpone the increase in excise rates for cigarettes for six months.
