Ukrainian banks finished the year with a loss of 24.4 billion hryvnia - the NBU

At the same time, losses were received as a result of a negative financial result of four banks. Such data on Wednesday morning, February 21, published on its website the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the regulator, according to the results of the year, the operating profit of the sector increased by 8% in annual terms - up to 40.7 billion hryvnia. At the same time, the number of unprofitable banks decreased from 33 at the end of 2016 and to 18 at the end of 2017.

The NBU also noted that the PrivatBank in the last year amounted to 23 billion hryvnia, but other state banks finished in 2017 in positive territory: Oschadbank received 558.5 million hryvnia, Ukrgazbank - 623.8 million hryvnia and Ukreximbank - 929.4 million hryvnia.



Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the National Bank of Ukraine decided to expand the list of data on the financial condition of banks, as well as on their compliance with prudential requirements. Since March of this year, the regulator intends to begin monthly publication of the values ??of economic (prudential) norms and components of regulatory capital in the context of individual banks. The press service of the National Bank of Ukraine informs that the first publication in the context of individual banks will reveal the figures for February 2018.
