It is noted that Russia's policy towards Ukraine since 2014 has become one of the reasons for reversing the trend that existed in NATO's activity for the last quarter of a century.

This is both a reduction in many member countries of the alliance's defense spending, and a reduction in military structures.

However, in connection with the threat from Russia, the alliance has now decided to strengthen its positions and has taken a course to better meet the challenges of our time.

As Jens Stoltenberg noted, it is the NATO military command structure that allows 29 member states to act as one. At the same time, he added that improving the transfer of forces, equipment and technology is vital for collective defense and deterrence.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, Jens Stoltenberg, secretary general of the alliance, said that Ukraine's accession to NATO can be considered after the Kiev's defense reform.
