The exact amount of the shadow economy in Ukraine has become known

The evidence of her work shows that the percentage of the shadow economy in the country since independence in 1991 practically did not decrease. The peak of the economy's shadow economy was at the cadence of President Leonid Kuchma and amounted to 57 percent of GDP. As of 2014, this figure was reduced to 42 percent, and by 2018 three percent more enterprises.



This is due primarily to the weak legal field of protection of private enterprises and their subjects, as well as external pressure on business, corruption and weak economic activity of Ukrainian citizens.

The scientist used the multiple indicators method with multiple reasons - a tool for measuring informal economic activity.

As reported in "Ura-Inform", the monitoring mission of the International Monetary Fund will come with an inspection and an independent assessment of the reforms next Monday.
