This is reported by Radio Szczecin with reference to the manager of the state-owned company of the Polish Shipping Company Pavel Brzezitsky. The first ship, which the company should soon receive from the Chinese shipyard, will be called "Lviv". The ship will have a capacity of 39,000 tons, writes the European truth. Further ordered ships will receive the names of the cities in the former Polish territories, in particular, the names of the cities of Vilnius and Ternopil. "We change the names of the ships, which are basically already ready and are in the Chinese shipyards. We gradually restore the names. For western Poland, these are good and nostalgic titles. Therefore, we want the ships to have the names of former Polish cities on the eastern border lands, "said Brzezici. As noted, a sailing ship called "Lviv" was already in the Polish fleet before the war. According to Brzezicki, the new names of the ships will not be controversial politically. "It's about five units, the first will be" Lviv ". This is a politically neutral step, because for many years one of our ships was called "Lviv Orlyata". And it did not do any harm to anyone, therefore, the name "Lviv" may not be a problem either, - says Brzezicki.

In Poland, it is noted that in the German fleet for a long time there is an icebreaker "Stetin" under the name of the former German, now Polish city of Szczecin. Recall that last year the Polish Ministry of the Interior announced discussions on the new design of Polish passports. Among the images planned to be placed on the document: Ostra Brama (Holy Gate) in Vilnius and Lviv Cemetery Eaglet. This initiative caused protests from Lithuania and Ukraine, after which the Polish authorities refused the idea of ??placing the images in passports.
