According to the results of 2017, Ukraine increased gas import from Europe by 26.8%, to 14.1 billion cubic meters of gas, while the third winter the country manages without Russian gas, Ukrtransgaz reports..

"Already for 768 days (the third winter), Ukraine does not import gas for its needs from the Russian Federation. During this period, including 2017, gas volumes came exclusively from the EU countries. In total this year (2017) from the Slovak, Hungarian and Polish directions transported 14.1 billion cubes, which is 26.8% more than last year and is a record value for the entire history of the Ukrainian GTS, "the report says..

Ukraine stopped buying gas from Russia in November 2015 and in 2016-2017 did not use Russian gas in preparation for the heating season.

At the same time, it is reported that the flow of natural gas into the GTS from gas producing enterprises in Ukraine has grown to 20.8 billion cubic meters, and compared to the 12-month period of 2016, production in Ukraine increased by 620 million cubic meters, or 3.1%.

The company also reports that Ukraine entered in 2018 with the largest gas reserves in underground storage facilities compared to the beginning of the last five years - 14.7 billion cubic meters.

So, Ukrtransgaz pumped 9.2 billion cubic meters of gas to suppliers and producers of blue fuel into underground storage facilities, which is 43.2% more than in 2016. In January-December 2017, 6.4 billion cubic meters were withdrawn from Ukrainian UGS facilities, which is 23.2% less than in 2016.

According to the company, 28.4 billion cubic meters of gas were transported to Ukrainian consumers of all categories by the main gas pipeline, which is 14.

9% less than in 2016. The indicator of gas consumption in Ukraine is indicated without taking into account the volumes of gas for industrial and technological needs of Ukrtrangaz, oblgas and extractive enterprises.

It is reported that due to significant growth in gas transportation, in particular transit, Ukrtransgaz increased the use of natural gas for its own production and technological needs to 2.2 billion cubic meters, compared with 1.7 billion in 2016.
