The corresponding draft resolution was included in the agenda of the governmental meeting on Monday, December 18.

So, according to the decision of the Government of Ukraine of December 30, 2015, from January 2, 2016 all the goods originating from Russia are applied import duty rates established by the Customs Tariff of Ukraine.

At the same time, the free trade regime with respect to the Russian Federation is canceled.

According to the decree adopted in December 2015, the decision of the Government of Ukraine "expires on December 31, 2016 or after the termination of the violation by the Russian Federation of the free trade zone agreement of October 18, 2011".

At the end of 2016, the Cabinet has already extended the effect of import duties for 2017.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, the President of Ukraine and the Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania intend to initiate a process of strengthening sanctions against Russia in the European Parliament.
