Regulators of the financial market do not recognize crypto-currency as a currency

This was announced today during a briefing by the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleg Chury.

As noted by the deputy head, that the complicated legal priority of the crypto currency does not allow to recognize them neither in cash, nor in currency, or in a payment instrument of another country.

According to him, the concept of "crypto-currency" and the regulation of transactions with it are not subject to the regulation of circulation of funds.

Since the crypto currency does not exist in the form of banknotes, banknotes, coins, or notes in bank accounts, it can not be recognized as money.

Now in Ukraine, a working group on the legal regulation of the status of crypto-currency in Ukraine to protect the rights of market participants and investors.



"We believe that the process of amending the legislation of Ukraine should not be hasty, since there is no single or unified position on crypto-currencies in the world today," Churiy said..
