According to the decision, the requirement that until now has obliged banks to make advance payments in foreign currency for the import of goods under a foreign economic contract, the total value of which exceeds five million dollars.

From now on, it is possible to make advance settlements in such cases without the use of letters of credit.

The National Bank explained the cancellation of this requirement by its irrelevance and ineffectiveness for the stabilization of the foreign exchange market.

According to the NBU, the new simplified procedure for making advance payments under foreign economic contracts will help further revive foreign trade and, at the same time, will not create additional pressure on the foreign exchange market.

By the way, the relevant amendments come into force on November 23, 2017.

As previously reported, "URA-Inform", in the Museum of Money of the National Bank, a new exhibit. The National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation a commemorative coin "The 100th Anniversary of the First Kurultai of the Crimean Tatar People".
