The National Bank of Ukraine is preparing to issue a coin "100 years since the formation of the first Ukrainian regiment named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky and the beginning of the formation of the Ukrainian armed forces". The new coin will be devoted to the formation of the first Ukrainian military unit, formed on a volunteer basis, than on the beginning of Ukrainianization of military units in the Russian army and became an important step on the way to the development of a new Ukrainian army.
The reverse of the coin depicts the flags of the first Ukrainian military formations, the main place among which is the flag of the 1st Ukrainian Cossack Regiment named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky, the historical flags of the Ukrainian State Navy, the Ukrainian Zaporozhye Regiment, and the flag of the modern Armed Forces.
The coin is made from nickel silver, its face value - five hryvnias will be, and all of them will be produced 50 thousand pieces.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the National Bank of Ukraine is considering the possibility of refusing coinage of coins with a nominal value of 1, 2, 5 and 25 kopecks. The central bank also intends to authorize the rounding of bills for goods. As it says on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine, coins of small denominations have almost ceased to play a significant role in the population's calculations for goods and services.
