The corresponding bill was passed in the first reading by deputies of the State Duma. This is stated on the website of the lower house of parliament. The initiative belongs to the government of the Russian Federation, which proposed to register in the law the possibility of indexing pensions to employees of the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor's Office. The explanatory note to the bill clarifies that the size of the raising coefficients is proposed to be established by presidential decree in stages during 2018 - 2019.

The note also says that the increase in pensions is awaited by prosecutors, scientific and pedagogical employees of the prosecutor's office, employees of the Investigative Committee and members of their families.

Earlier, the head of the Center for Strategic Research Alexei Kudrin said that the authorities did not have the resources to pay the elderly people the current pension. However, the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation was assured that there are enough money in their budget to keep the old people without pensions. Kudrin's words in the RPF were considered insinuations that do not have a real basis.
