Producers of marijuana have already shown interest in the initiative of the Greek government and are ready to invest up to 1.5 billion euros in the construction of greenhouses.

In this case, one farm for 12-15 greenhouses will give about 400 jobs, the minister said in an interview with Bloomberg. This is especially important for a country where the unemployment rate from 2011. exceeds 20% and is the highest in the EU. At the same time, the Greek authorities are not going to legalize the trade and use of marijuana. They are able to grow cannabis exclusively for humane purposes, that is, for its subsequent application in the medical field.

The Greek government is going to send the corresponding bill to the parliament by the end of this year.
