The deficit of natural milk in Russia reached 8 million tons. Such figures were cited by the expert on food safety, former rector of the Moscow State University of Food Production (MGUPP), professor Dmitry Edelev. Moreover, according to his information, the production of animal milk in the country continues to fall. However, the counters of our shops are bursting with all kinds of cottage cheese, yoghurt, kefir, milk. This is simply explained - the falsification of food products is growing, which are served to the domestic consumer as dairy. "Mass falsification is promoted by unmarketing by unscrupulous producers of dairy products when replacing dairy raw materials with vegetable substitutes and mass replacement of milk fat with low-quality palm oil," Yedelev told the "Free Press". It was expected that from 2017. on labels in large type, manufacturers will be required to report the presence of vegetable fats in dairy products. However, this did not happen. At the same time, imports of palm oil, coconut, palm kernel oil into the country only grows. Last year, this raw material was imported about a million tons. And all these Russians ate under the guise of cow's milk and cottage cheese. And the danger is not only that such a "cocktail" is at least unprofitable for health - and for a growing body of children is so harmful. Cheap vegetable analogues of dairy products survive from the market of bona fide producers. After all, they put the price for their unmarked falsification in a scrap.
As a result, farms can not withstand price competition and are closed, and less real milk gets on the shelves.
The attempt to go on the other side and label, on the contrary, the production of dairy plants and farms, also failed. The introduction of electronic veterinary certification was first scheduled for January 1, 2018. , then pushed back to July 2018. And there and something else will happen, as with the increase of excises for palm oil and the introduction on it of mandatory marking.
