The company is one of the largest Russian suppliers of anthracite to Ukraine. As stated in the order of the department on October 30, sanctions are imposed on the basis of the request of the Security Service. They come into force in 40 days.
At the same time, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade explained that such measures are taken because of actions that could damage national economic security.
Thus, Yuzhtrans will be prohibited from carrying out foreign economic activities with business entities in Ukraine.
Recall, Yuzhtrans is part of the Southern Coal Company, which owns extractive assets in the Rostov region. The company is one of the largest suppliers of coal from Russia.
As reported URA-Inform, Ukraine since early 2017 imported 15.1 million tons of coal for almost 2.2 million dollars, which is 1.5 times higher than the amount that Ukraine has paid the last two years.
