November 3 at 17:00 in the port of "Chernomorsk" moored ship with coal from South Africa. Bulker «Scythia Graeca» delivered to Ukraine 75 thousand. tons of anthracite. From 20:00 the port "Chernomorsk" has already begun unloading the vessel, reports the Main with reference to the port "Chernomorsk".

The ship with anthracite from the South African Republic is processed at the first terminal of the Black Sea port. Production capacity allows you to do this as soon as possible. And in the period of the coming heating season, the processing speed of this cargo is most important. Black Sea port copes with similar problems professionally. That is why three years ago the first lots of South African coal went to Ukraine through the port in Chernomorsk (in 2014 the city was called Ilyichevsk).

This party of African coal arrived for the energy holding DTEK. After unloading at the berths of the Black Sea port, the anthracite will be sent to the Krivoy Rog TPP. Coal is needed to generate electricity during the autumn-winter period.

Recall that because of the fighting in the east of the country, Ukraine is experiencing a significant deficit of coal, primarily energy (anthracite), whose extraction is concentrated in areas in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, controlled by militants.

To ensure the stable operation of its thermal power plants that use anthracite, DTEK decided to supply coal from the Rostov region mines and signed a contract for the supply of coal from South Africa in the amount of more than 600 thousand tons with the possibility of increasing the volume to 1 million tons. October 21, the port "South" took the seventh in the current year, a coal bunker from South Africa for DTEK.

The arrived anthracite will go to Pridneprovskaya and Krivoy Rog TPPs to replenish the stock for the heating season. Then the press service of DTEK said that the company had already delivered 450 thousand tons of anthracite from South Africa. The first vessel was taken by DTEK in the seaport "Yuzhny" on May 25.
