The construction of wooden houses has a "huge potential" in Russia, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, his words lead TASS.
"I believe that this type of development in our country has a huge potential in view of our forest wealth," Medvedev said at a meeting with activists of the United Russia party in the Volga Federal District in response to a proposal to expand this kind of construction.
According to the premier, wooden houses are not only eco-friendly, but also "very modern", and they allow keeping heat and can stand on "for decades" - if the right technologies are applied,.
To prepare sites for such development, Medvedev suggested considering the possibility of amending the Forestry Code of Russia.
