Some of the largest US companies have opposed the adoption of new sanctions by US authorities against Russia. Entrepreneurs urge to revise the draft law on restrictions. This was announced on Thursday, July 20, by the CNN channel referring to sources in the congress.

It is noted that lobbyists such as oil and energy giants BP, Exxon and General Electric, aerospace company Boeing, bank conglomerates Citigroup, Mastercard and Visa are among those who are now actively working to change a number of paragraphs of the document, as well as Companies producing Ford, Dow Chemical, Procter & Gamble, International Paper, Caterpillar and Cummins.

Entrepreneurs believe that new restrictive measures can lead to unforeseen consequences, which, in the long run, will cause considerable damage to their business. At the same time, businessmen do not advocate a complete rejection of the bill, but only want to adjust it.

Members of trade associations and lobbyists who represent the interests of American industrialists are now meeting with representatives of the congress to discuss possible amendments to the controversial bill.

Earlier, Berlin and Vienna criticized Washington's plans to introduce new anti-Russian sanctions. With the corresponding joint statement on this hot topic were made on June 15, 2017. German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel and Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern.

Recall, June 14, the US Senate approved a document providing for new sanctions against the Russian Federation and Iran. The project proposes to reduce the maximum period of market financing for Russian banks under restrictions of up to 14 days, oil and gas companies - up to 30 days.

In addition, according to the document, the president of the country can take action against companies that are going to invest in the construction of Russian export pipelines more than $ 5 million per year or a million at a time, as well as provide services or provide information support. A separate paragraph states the intention of the US "to counteract the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline," RIA Novosti writes..

Currently, the bill passes approval in the House of Representatives. If approved by both chambers of the Congress, the document will be submitted for signature to the head of state.
