The project will be funded by the European Union. Its main goal will be the development of a sustainable economic approach to the use of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities in the context of the European and Ukrainian energy market.

As explained by the chairman of the board of Naftogaz Ukrainy Andrei Kobolev, this project will allow Ukraine to attract the best consultants to develop an optimal strategy for the unique gas storage infrastructure in Ukraine.

Representatives of the government and Naftogaz will take part in the work of the steering committee, and the project will be implemented by a consortium of the French Storengy operator and the international law firm CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, he said, adding that the study anticipates demand for Services for gas storage for the next 20 years and the study of Ukraine's capabilities in the UGS market.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the financial plan "Naftogaz of Ukraine" for 2017 will be approved in July.
